Finding your ring size
Measure once at home, then check the table
US ring sizes run in half steps, and each half size is about 0.4 mm of inside diameter. Fingers change through the day and with the season, so measure in the evening, at room temperature, and when in doubt choose the larger half size: a ring that is slightly loose can be sized; a tight one hurts.
Every ring in the catalogue lists its size and can be ordered in half sizes from 4 to 10.
Measure a ring you already own
The most reliable method, because it measures the finger the ring is actually worn on.
- Take a ring that fits the right finger of the right hand.
- Lay it on a ruler and read the inside diameter in millimeters, edge to edge.
- Find the diameter in the table below; if it falls between two sizes, choose the larger.
Measure the finger
Without a ring, use a strip of paper or a length of thread.
- Wrap it around the base of the finger, snug but not tight, and mark where it overlaps.
- Measure the length in millimeters: that is the circumference.
- Make sure the ring will pass over the knuckle; if the knuckle is much wider, size for the knuckle and we can add sizing beads.
Width matters
A wide band, anything over 4 mm, fits tighter than a thin one at the same size because more metal sits against the skin. Go up a half size for wide bands and eternity bands. Eternity bands, with stones all the way round, cannot be resized later, so get these right first.
Resizing
Plain and part-set bands can be sized up or down by two sizes; the first resize is free within thirty days. Rings with stones around the whole band are made to size instead. If you are buying as a gift, order the size you can measure and we will adjust it after.
